Bristol Myers Squibb Go Live with the Pocket PC in the Field

Outline

Following a successful Pilot Phase at Bristol-Myers Squibb, the Call Collect application using a mixture of Dell Axim's and HP iPaq's, went live at the end of August and during September. This solution allows BMS Representatives to enter their customer visits, sample releases (including the recording of signatures) and internal activity days throughout the day and transfer them, quickly, using a secure VPN dial up when required.

The information collected in this way is then transferred into the GoldMineTM application which is used as a management reporting tool within the Sales & Marketing areas.

The project detail will be subject to a Case Study currently being compiled and intended to be avilable during October.

The Components

This solution is using three software components working together to collect, transfer and present the data from the field.

Call CollectTM

Developed by Topaz Software and supplied in Ireland and the UK by ProUnison, this application allows the design of data entry forms on any Windows Pocket PC device for the collection of data, and transfer back to base, either by dial-up or directly online using GPRS services.

We have been able to use this to design effective data entry forms for the BMS Representatives, to capture relevant data as quickly and easily as possible.

InaportTM

Developed by Inaplex and supplied by ProUnison, the Inaport application provides powerful data exchange functions with GoldMineTM and other CRM packages such as Saleslogix & ACCPAC and the HEAT application.

Using the Call Collect Data, we are able to map the data to existing areas within GoldMine already being used by BMS.

GoldMineTM

BMS have used the GoldMine application successfully for many years and have reporting structures already in place utilising the data from GoldMine. We have been able to pass the Call Collect Data to GoldMine using Inaport, without the need for changes to the existing GoldMine system and reporting process in place.

If you have any questions in relation to this new solution, please contact ProUnison, details below, and we would be happy to assist.
